Worth Knowing · a Lanlan program

Someone you know is worth knowing. We'll build them the website to match — on the house.

Every week we pick one person — a small business, a maker, a cause worth knowing — and build them a site, free, the way it should have been made the first time. No catch. We just love doing it.

The best websites aren't built by someone fighting a template at midnight. They're made by someone who actually cares about the person it's for. That's the whole idea here.

How it works

Three steps, in plain language.

No forms to wrestle, no design vocabulary. You bring a name and a reason. We do the rest.

01

Tell us a story

Nominate someone whose website doesn't match how good they are — or quietly put yourself forward. The story is the part that matters.

02

We pick one a week

We read every single one. Each week, one story gets chosen, and we build them a real site — free, and made for who they actually are.

03

They get the spotlight

They get a website made for them. You get to be the person who made it happen. And the whole thing becomes an episode of the show.

Your good deed, redeemable here

Put someone in the spotlight

One week. One story. One site, on the house.

Know a business, artist, or cause whose website doesn't match how good they are? Tell us about them. If we pick them, the only thing we'll ask is that you're the one who gets to share the good news.

So we know who to thank.
We'll tell you if they're picked — before they know.
Their name, or their business name.
The more specific, the better — "ceramicist in Oakland," "grief counselor," "two-person trail-running brand."
Website, Instagram, anywhere. Don't worry if it's rough or nonexistent — that's kind of the point.
This is the part that matters. What do they make, why do they deserve it, what would a great site change for them?

No shame in nominating yourself. If your site doesn't do justice to what you do, we'd love to fix that.

The thing you'd want strangers to understand in one sentence.
Site, socials, or "nowhere yet."
Be honest. Looks dated? Can't update it? Embarrassed to send the link? No site at all? We've heard it all.
Book more clients, look legit to a partner, finally stop apologizing for the link.
Worth Knowing — the show

The story doesn't stop at the site.

Every build is also a conversation. Our host sits down with the person behind the work — what they make, why it matters, who it's for — and the finished website is the reveal at the end.

It's a show about people worth knowing, with a gift waiting in the last act. We love using it to put diverse makers, small businesses, and quiet heroes in front of an audience that should already know them.

Episode arc

How one website gets made — and the person behind it.

The conversationThe buildThe reveal

We can only build one a week. Most stories we can't get to right away — and that's exactly why Lanlan exists.

The point isn't that we pick you. The point is that anyone can have a site made for them. If we can't get to you, we'll make sure you can do it yourself for next to nothing.

Ready when you are

Know someone worth knowing?

It takes two minutes and one good reason. The rest is on us.
